A lampshade from our bamboo design lights collection, inspired by the Indonesian Archipelago and beyond. Each lampshade is crafted by hand out of layers of thinly sliced bamboo, creating the iconic ‘Shell’ shape. It takes a handful of men to pull the lampshade into this shape.
Material sustainability
Bamboo is one of the fastest-growing resources, which grows in abundance in Indonesia. For this reason, we chose to work with this incredible material. We also make sure that all of our wood is V-Legal certified. This means that it is not illegally logged from vulnerable areas. Read about our sustainability practises here

Since these lampshades are made out of a natural material, they can vary in colour slightly.
Installation details
◦ Supplied with complete European CE certified real bronze fitting, black woven power cable, and matte black plafonniere.
◦ Cable length (1.50m) can be shortened manually if desired (we do not provide this service but it can easily be done yourself).
◦ Fitting size: E27
◦ Light bulb not provided. We recommend a bulb from the Philips Deco LED Giant Vintage collection. Any bulb between 15-40 watt / 400 LUMEN will do – either Warm White or Flame, depending on your preference.
Which light bulb to buy?
With so many options, it can be difficult to choose a light bulb. Do you want to create that warm Sooka look and feel in your home?
Here are our light bulb recommendations:
For the true Sooka glow, we recommend the E27 15w Philips lightbulb for light that is very atmospheric and warm. Ideal for in the living roomand bedroom.
If you prefer a bulb that emits less yellow/warm light we recommend the E27 40w Philips light bulb. It is a bit brighter, this bulb works great in a dining room, office,or larger living room.
Dutch customers: Both bulbs can easily be ordered online (via Gamma or Karwei) using the links below or picked up at their hardware stores.

Dag Sooka, wat een prachtige lampen heb ik van jullie ontvangen. Ik moet zeggen dat ik het formaat van de 70cm kap had onderschat maar dat maakt niet uit! Onze eetkamer kan het wel hebben.
